Description

A bright and bubbly sangria perfect for celebrations or warm weather, featuring pink grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, peach schnapps, elderflower liqueur, and sparkling white wine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup 100% pure pink grapefruit juice, chilled
  • 1 cup 100% pure pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 cup peach schnapps, chilled
  • ½ cup St-Germain elderflower liqueur (or other elderflower liqueur), chilled
  • 1 (750ml) bottle sparkling white wine (such as Prosecco, Cava, or other dry variety), chilled
  • 1 can (398 ml / approx. 1 1/2 cups) club soda, chilled
  • 1 medium pink grapefruit, thinly sliced crosswise
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced crosswise
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Combine Base Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the pink grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, peach schnapps, and St-Germain elderflower liqueur. Stir gently. (Optional: You can chill this base mixture in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before serving if desired).
  • Add Sparkling Wine & Soda: Just before serving, gently pour the chilled sparkling white wine and the chilled club soda into the pitcher with the juice mixture.
  • Add Fruit & Ice: Add the sliced pink grapefruit, sliced lime, and a generous amount of ice cubes to the pitcher.
  • Stir Gently: Stir the sangria very gently with a long spoon just to combine all the ingredients. Avoid over-stirring to preserve the carbonation.
  • Serve: Pour the sangria into glasses filled with more ice, making sure to include some fruit slices in each glass. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Chilled Ingredients: Using chilled juices, liqueurs, wine, and club soda is key to keeping the sangria cold without excessive dilution from ice.
  • Sparkling Wine: Choose a dry or off-dry sparkling wine like Prosecco, Cava, or a sparkling Pinot Grigio.
  • Elderflower Liqueur: St-Germain is a popular choice, adding a distinct floral note.
  • Sweetness: This sangria leans towards fruity and tart. If you prefer a sweeter drink, you could add 1-2 tablespoons of simple syrup or agave nectar to the base mixture in step 1.
  • Fruit: Feel free to add other complementary fruits like sliced strawberries or oranges.
  • Storage: Sangria with sparkling wine is best enjoyed immediately after mixing to retain its fizz.
