These Hot Italian Sub Sliders are a crowd-pleasing appetizer or main course. Layers of ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, and spicy peppers are nestled in soft rolls, brushed with a garlic-herb butter, and baked until golden and melty.
Ingredients
- 1 (12-pack) slider rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian), halved lengthwise
- 6 ounces thinly sliced deli ham
- 5 ounces thinly sliced salami
- 5 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni
- 9 slices provolone cheese
- 1/3 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
- 1/3 cup sliced pickled hot cherry peppers
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) salted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
For Serving (Optional):
- 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed (for dipping)
Instructions
-
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Prepare Rolls: Separate the top and bottom halves of the slider rolls. Do not separate the individual rolls. Place the bottom half of the connected rolls in a 9×13-inch baking dish or on a large baking sheet.
-
Layer Ingredients:
- Layer the sliced ham evenly over the bottom rolls.
- Layer the sliced salami over the ham.
- Layer the sliced pepperoni over the salami.
- Layer the provolone cheese slices over the pepperoni.
- Scatter the sliced pepperoncini peppers and sliced hot cherry peppers evenly over the cheese.
-
Replace Top Buns: Place the top half of the connected rolls over the layered ingredients.
-
Make Garlic Herb Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and crushed (or minced) garlic. Stir well to combine.
-
Brush with Butter: Brush the seasoned butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders, making sure to get it into all the nooks and crannies between the rolls.
-
Bake (Covered): Cover the sliders loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
-
Serve Remove foil, and if you want to brown a little more continue baking until golden.
-
Cut and serve
