Ingredients
Scale
For the Salmon:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 7 ounces each), skin-on or skinless
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
For the Honey Glaze:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter (or olive oil)
- 5 cloves garlic, freshly minced
- 1/2 cup honey (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Prepare Salmon: If using skin-on salmon, place the fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Make the Glaze: In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the butter (or olive oil), minced garlic, honey, and soy sauce (or tamari).
- Simmer Glaze: Whisk the glaze ingredients together until smooth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
- Season Salmon: Season the salmon fillets generously with sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Glaze Salmon: Pour the prepared honey glaze evenly over the seasoned salmon fillets, making sure to coat them well.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven. Spoon any remaining pan sauce over the salmon for extra flavor. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Salmon: You can use skin-on or skinless salmon fillets. If using skin-on, place them skin-side down on the baking sheet.
- Doneness: The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets. Use a fork to check for doneness – the salmon should flake easily and be opaque in the center. A meat thermometer is the most accurate way to check.
- Honey: Adjust the amount of honey to your preference.
- Soy Sauce/Tamari: Use soy sauce for a classic flavor, or tamari for a gluten-free option. Low-sodium soy sauce can be used to control saltiness.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve this honey glazed salmon with rice, quinoa, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
